I am trained as a political scientist and received my Ph.D from the University of Toronto in 2017.  I am a teacher-scholar who specializes in International Relations, with a focus on human rights, NGOs and transnational activism.  In my work, I am committed to improving the wellbeing of students in school and beyond. I currently serve as the Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto, where I help students address the many challenges they face during their undergraduate studies and help them prepare for life after they graduate. I am also a lecturer in the Masters of Global Affairs program at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, where I teach a course on activist campaigns in global politics.  I have previously taught courses at the University of Toronto on human rights, international cooperation & institutions, and global security.  I have experience in advocacy as well, serving as the Executive Director of Every Kid Counts, a grassroots campaign that is working to ensure that all children with disabilities in Ontario get the supports they need to reach their potential.

As a researcher, I have published on a variety of different topics, including human rights NGOs, activists,  international relations theory, international institutions, and Edward Said. I have also written on privatization in Ontario for the Globe & Mail and Toronto Star, on 5G and COVID-19 for Maclean’s, and on COVID-19 for Policy Options.
