I am trained as a political scientist and received my Ph.D from the University of Toronto in 2017.  In my professional life, I wear a number of different hats, all of which focus in one way or another on improving the wellbeing of students in school and beyond. I currently serve as the Undergraduate Advisor and lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. In this role, I help students address the many challenges they face during their undergraduate studies and help them prepare for life after they graduate. I am also the Executive Director of Every Kid Counts, a grassroots campaign that is working to ensure that all children with disabilities in Ontario get the supports they need to reach their potential. And lastly, I am the Director of Research & Strategy at Starts With Me, a small mental health outfit that is working to increase the capacity of individuals, in school and in the workplace, to improve their emotional wellbeing.

As a researcher, I have published on a variety of different topics, including human rights NGOs and activists,  international relations theory, and the work of Edward Said. I have also written on privatization in Ontario for the Globe & Mail and Toronto Star, and on 5G and COVID-19 for Maclean’s.

My current research looks at Canadian public health policy.
